Dear Bryan:
Back in the 80s I was at a fuel dock at a marina in Cambridge, MD when a
large powerboat caught fire while it was being refueled. The owner ran
away as soon as the fire started, which was fortunate, since the vessel
exploded within a minute or so, and immediately sank. That experience
made me very careful with the three 5-gallon gas tanks I kept in the aft
outboard well in my Catalina 27, which was my live-aboard home at that
time.
