All I did was run an insulated wire that ran from the radio via the external
antennae jack to the chainplate inside the boat where it is wound around a
nut. Not fancy but it works fine. Antennae length does not seem critical
if you are just receiving, the longer the better I think.

Subject: [worldcruising] SW Receiver Antenna
I have installed a SW receiver that I would like to be able to get weather
fax and other SW weather information as well as VOA and BBC news. How do I
make a antenna that I can run up on a spare halyard when I wish to listen
and be coiled up and stored below when not being used?
