    Hi John,
Thank you for your reply to my e-mail call for help.
We will be in Capetown in November and after your comments, am thinking
that the Panama route would be the way to go. I only concern are the
reports of pirates etc along the route. Would you have any suggestions
of how to avoid those areas and where they are.
I had sailed the British and US Virgin Islands 11 years ago and possibly
    things have changed since then.
Appreciated the story on the single handed sail across to Australia.
Takes a lot of guts to do that when you are handicapped.
Do yacht groups ever sail out of Capetown to the destinations we are
    interested in?
    Regards, Ian
