I read on CNN, and several other news sites, that a 30-foot whale
landed on the deck of a chartered sailboat in Australia as it
attempted to scrape barnacles from its skin. That's at least what
the witnesses described seeing when the animal became ensnared on the
rigging and collapsed onto the deck, dropping the mast in the
process. I've never heard of whales using boats to scrape off
barnacles. How common is this? Has anyone seen a photo or video
clip of the aftermath? I'd be curious to see what happened.
Regards,
Louis
