Depends on a lot of veriables. Will you live at a dock or anchor out is a
big one.
Just off the top of my head $1000.00 per month is too much if you are not
making a big boat payment. About right if you are.

My husband and I, well its my crazy idea, are planning to move to St
Thomas to finish off our degrees at the University of the Virgin
Islands. We are trying to figure out where to live while we are
there. One idea we are tossing around is living on a boat. We have
been on many boats, sailing etc. but we really don't know much about
them. I have been looking into costs and different lifestyles but
there is so much info to sort through. Are we nuts or can we pull it
off? We were figuring on spending about 1000 per month on housing.
Would that be about how much it would cost us to live on a boat. We
will be staying mostly in the USVI and BVI areas. Any feedback would
be much appreciated.
