Oh, everybody got a little trick. For instance, after years with no
offshore work, when we left Hampton Roads for Bermuda we purposely sat
facing shore so we didn't have to look at that vast expanse of empty all
afternoon long. At night we could still see the glow of shore lights on the
clouds. By the next day it didn't matter. It seemed just like a long day
sail on the bay and by having something to focus on, helped a bit with the
queesies.
OTOH, leaving Bermuda we sat facing seaward, anxious to make the Caribbean.
