I don't actually shake with fear. I suppress my feelings to the point
that I am too nauseated to eat breakfast, but I don't realize it is
anxiety until afterwards.
After Bob's heart attack it was hard for me to get back on the boat -
enough that I was able to recognize that I was anxious. It was hard
to do and also hard not to keep asking him how he was (he doesn't
share).
We don't do long passages - the most we've done is overnight or 24
hours. But that's no scarier for me than leaving.
