Subject: [world-cruising] Cruising insurance?

Oh salty graybeards, (and I include the ladies amongst us)
As my Dad and I prepare to embark on a cruise from Rhode Island to San
Francisco via the Canal and perhaps Hawaii, we're having trouble
finding insurance. The one insurer we've spoken with wants three crew
aboard our 45' Jeanneau for the non-coastal portions of the journey.
We'd rather not be limited this way. My Dad envisions continuing on to
points unknown, possibly the South Pacific. Can anyone recommend
insurers that would be willing to write us a 'world cruising' policy?
