If I had to pick one, I'd choose Cruising World. Great writers, pretty
pictures, reasonable reviews. I'm a total Practical Sailor fan, but that
might be better for later stages. You probably are more interested in
dreaming about faraway anchorages and gorgeous boats than reading about
technical data on varnishes and sump pumps! Also, if you're trying to
sell the dream to someone else, Cruising World is better propaganda.
Latitudes and Attitudes can be fun, but sometimes gets a bit too goofy
for my tastes. BWS tends to make me feel like a wus for not aiming for
the Marquesas or the Azores.

Online, you might www.sailnet.com . There's a ton of practical articles
that can keep you busy for months.
