[world-cruising] Re: Women on the Water

Subject: [world-cruising] Re: Women on the Water

It is true that some women go along because it is their partner's
desire to sail. For some it is boring or hell, others are happy to
share in this activity with their partner. Let us face it, most women
where not educated while growing up to go out on the water, at least
not by themselves. I was lucky, I'm a navy brat and my father
believed that a woman could do anything a man could (except aim with
precision off the boat!). I have always loved the water and
travelling by sail is beyond words. That thrill of hearing the water
along the hull, the sound of the sail and waiting with anticipation
to see what is behind the next point - my soul feels ready to burst
into a million stars! I have been blessed in the past to be with
someone who shares my passion and we have had some wonderful trips
together. I have also blessed in the past to be with someone who
couldn't care less about sailing but didn't hassle me when I went off
on my own or with other friends. One of my goals is to one day take
off for a couple of years on my own and sail to places that I haven't
seen yet. As I am a tough and stubborn I know that this is one dream
that will come true.
