[world-cruising] cooped up on the boat for days on end....

Subject: [world-cruising] cooped up on the boat for days on end....

I'd like to add that the stormy, rainy days when we didn't sail the boat
anywhere were often the best days of our cruise. It was great to relax for
a day and do nothing, or walk into the nearest town (in the foulies) and go
to the library, see a movie, or just stop at a coffee shop. Every little
town has some kind of museum and even going to a McDonalds was a real treat
after eating "boat dinners" ewvery day for a couple of months.

The stormy day was like a "day off". Sunny nice days were "back to work"
all too often. Until we learned to "declare it to be Saturday" once in a
while. Saturday meant sleeping in, making pancakes, doing NO BOAT WORK nor
moving the boat one inch. Also no school, and the order of the day was fun
only. "Saturday" could be any day of the week and sometimes we cheated and
had two "Saturdays" in a row.
