Sorry no personal experience but a friend who has beat me to selling the
house and going full time, wrote to say he is finding it more common for
them to confiscate his spear gun and flare gun. Both of which I though were
alternatives. I guess line launchers would fall into that. Seems to be
Spanish language countries.
Again no firsthand experience.
