Are you asking about bgeres system, or the propane cooler I use?
If the one I use, you can find out more about it on www.lehmans.com (and
elsewhere. I believe it's a standard unit made by Servel). $420 brand new
as I recall. uses about 8 oz of propane per day. The heat thrown off is so
little I have to hold my hand over the chimney for upwards of 30 seconds to
see if the unit it running. I set the unit (about the size of an Igloo style
cooler) in the quarter berth and make it more or less level. The only time
I've used it under way was motoring in a flat calm. It turned a half gallon
of lemonade (hey, I like the stuff) at 90+ degrees into something too damned
cold to drink somewhere during the 8 hours of motoring. You wanna keep it
out of bright sunlight, as the insulation of the cooler is no great shakes.
I've been thinking of wrapping the unit (except heater) in mylar space
blanket to keep out the heat.
Geres system he knows a bunch about. I gather it works better than he hoped.
