Just a plug for the unconventional approach: We have neither
refrigeration nor a big ice box and we do just fine without it. We are
currently in Southern California where it is warm (by our standards.) We
have been underway for three years without refr/ice just fine.
We DO have a little "lunch box" sized cooler for an open quart of milk or
the like, but it is not essential to our lifestyle, and if ice is not
available or we are offshore, no big deal.
