[world-cruising] How To Determine If Yacht is Blue Water Worthy

Subject: [world-cruising] How To Determine If Yacht is Blue Water Worthy

I have a Beneteau First 32 (32.75' LOA and 28" LWL) that I would like
to sail from Block Island to Bermuda. I think it is adequate for the
trip (particularly when I read last week that a 15 year old just
sailed hsi 32' foot boat single-handledly from the Azores to the
Caribbean), but I'm not sure. I realize at 32' we would probably get
bounced around in bad weather, but that doesn't bother me. It's the
life threatening stuff that I worry about. I would appreciate any
thoughts anyone might have on this subject.

Thanks, Tim
