Thanks Rick, for the thorough explanation on how a survey should/does work. I'm sorry if my post sounded like a P&M session on surveyors, Morris Yachts or the world in general.
The point I was trying to make was -- get as much information as possible and use your best judgement. That doesn't guarantee you will find everything, but you increase your odds.
The other thing I did on my first purchase that I wished I had done on this one was sit down with the owner and ask a lot of questions and just discuss the boat. Most brokers don't like to let the seller do this, probably for good reasons.
