[world-cruising] Outta Here

Subject: [world-cruising] Outta Here

Well, winter vacation time. We'll provision Xapic today and sleep aboard
tonight then leave for the BVI at the butt-crack of dawn Saturday. Looking
forward to getting out of here for a while (although I'm not looking forward
to that long hard slog to windward--everything except Florida is upwind from
Puerto Rico).

Our intentions are to motorsail hard for Virgin Gorda in two or three hops
and then have an easy downwind sail visiting around the islands. Of course,
that all may change. One place you won't find us this year, is Jost Van
Dyke for New Years. Any place that parties so hard that it hires people to
walk the beaches turning drunks on their sides so that they don't drown in
their own vomit is too various for us. Saw a pix of last year's festivities
and it was charter boat hell. You could get ashore by jumping from deck to
deck.
