The biggest question with davits is what style fits on your boat and how difficult they are to install. Which areas do you have access to the back side of? Which areas are strong enough or have enough access to install large backing plates? I just purchased and self installed davits from Ocean Marine Systems, the owner was familiar with many boats and could advise exactly how the best installation was to be done. Kato and St Croix offered similar services but other mfgrs could not adapt the mounting system and provide the parts or were not familiar with various boats to advise correct installation. My davits needed to be mounted to the stern, then a vertical stanchion, then the stanchion needed a diagonal reinforcement, the diagonal's bolts landed inside a cabinet which needed 2" holesaw holes in the interior wood to install plates and nuts. If you are close to a vendor that stocks davits so that you could see them and buy various hardware to match it and return extra
s, that would be good too. My cost with shipping and options was $1700+/-, possibly a local fabricator could make these for less.

We have the Kato davits, and there are similar ones (St. Croix or
something like that) which look identical but are cheaper.
