If you have aluminum tanks, KATO Marine in Annapolis makes some really nifty
SS brackets that will hold a propane tank on a stern rail. No box, no drain
or glands to worry with, quick change, and very accessible. Looks real
salty.
I've also seen people make external propane lockers out of very large PVC
pipe with caps.
There are usually several ads in the back of the sailing mags for assembled
propane lockers.
