Gary
It depends were you are going.
If you are travelling between foreign nations you must be registered as a ship from some nation.
usually your own. It does not have to be.
The Registration papers or "documentation" are all you need for the boat. When you leave one nation you must clear customs and have a clearance document or "zapper" to prove it. This must be handed in at the next port of entry where you will get entry papers until you get your next zapper.

  Greetings,

Can you folks let me know what kind of items you carry as "Ship's Papers". I've gotten conflicting opinions and thought the folks actually out there doing it would be the best source of information. Which papers are necessary? Which are good to have? and Which can be forgotten?

  Thanks,
