I presume you've been to the National Vessel Documentation Center page
<http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-m/vdoc/nvdc.htm>. If there's isn't enough info
there to answer your questions, give them a call; a toll-free number is
listed.

I did my own documentation many years ago. Back then, the biggest problem
was that every form had to be letter perfect. Now that the forms are
computerized, it's a lot easier. The process isn't tough, but it will still
cost you something over $100.
