At this side of the ocean one every now and then sees an owl (in it's plastic
version it's rather friendly, doesn't consume much and doesn't "poo") mounted
in the mast (you can remove it if you go sailing). But I wonder if the gull's
your side of the ocean are also afraid of owl's ?
