Haven't tried it myself but I've heard of good results with hanging old CD's here and there. They twirl around and are shiny which is supposed to frighten the critters. Good luck.

Subject: [worldcruising] Gull control?
I only get down to my boat once a week. Each time I arrive I have to spend 30 min to 1 hour cleaning bird poo of the boat.
I have had this problem since I moved to a swinging mooring. When I was in a marina for several years I never had any problems. Boats in a marina a 100 m away don't have gull problems. The birds target the not in the marina slips (pens) I have tried netting, plastic snakes but nothing has worked yet.
Does any one have suggestions?
Barry
