Can you deduct sales or VAT tax you have already paid in another
country? Obviously not from the duty.. but from the GST?
No But you can deduct the cost os sailing the baot to Australia.
The augument is wether the expenses were part of your 1 year holiday cruise or a genuine delivery cost. Also if extra equipment added to the value of the boat.
Purchases made for the boat before you arrive can be made with out sales tax in many countries provided you can show it is for a ship in transit.
This is imortant in places with high impoert duty kike Tahiti.
It aplies in USA and UK etc.
Just like buy in "duty free"
