Having several moderators would make sense, after all members of a "world cruising" list normally are away for extended periods. Mark, several of us have experience moderating Yahoo Groups, could you appoint some more moderators?

I agree we need a little more moderation here.
In fact this spam problem is easily fixed if all NEW members are set to
"moderated for first post" status when they sign up. Then the spam mail
wouldn't get through without a moderator approving it. Which of course
they wouldn't.
Below is the outcome of a earlier attempt to find the Owner and resolve
this problem.
My offer to assist with moderation still stands.
