I agree we need a little more moderation here.
In fact this spam problem is easily fixed if all NEW members are set to
"moderated for first post" status when they sign up. Then the spam mail
wouldn't get through without a moderator approving it. Which of course
they wouldn't.
Below is the outcome of a earlier attempt to find the Owner and resolve
this problem.
My offer to assist with moderation still stands.

I'm trying to track down the group owner for Worldcruising.
The worldcruising group has been hit by a number of spam mails recently.
It would appear that we no longer have a group owner. Both the owner
and moderator are unreachable via their entries in the member list.
There are also over 290 bouncing members which indicates the management
of the group has been let slide.
I would be happy to take over as group owner and moderator if this is
possible. I already own and moderate another sailing group
(manitou32) and am a moderator on the VirtualCup group.
Is it possible to appoint a new owner/moderator if the original owner
has left?

incorrectly) that you had both left. I should have tried the other
worldcruising-owner address in the first place. Please accept my
