When I read the info about the Jack Rabbit Submersible Hydro Generator on the "Real good"
web page at http://www.realgoods.com/renew/shop/product.cfm?dp=1200&sd=1201&ts=1017104
it seems that the Jack Rabbit they refer to is a submersible generator this marine-duty unit was "originally designed for towing behind seismic sleds for oil exploration", and it is referred to as being from Great Britain.
The generators referred to at Jack Rabbit Marine Energy Systems at http://www.jackrabbitmarine.com/ is the Aquair (combination wind and water turbine). This unit is not submersible and requires towing a propeller on a trailing line.
The former can be mounted on a "outboard" style leg that avoids towing a line. The towed line has problems with jumping out of the water in big seas and tangling of cutting the line with the towed prop.
Regards
Barry
