Thank you George and Barry for your advice and comments.

About the timing of the passage - yes I accept the absolute windows -
leave Panama before June or July and arrive into Auckland before
early November. But what is the earliest it is sensible to leave
Panama? I was intending to leave for the Galapogas around 1st
March. Assuming a slow passage (one week?) and the maximum allowed
time there (two weeks? - any updates on this?) that would mean
leaving for the French Marquesas around 21st March and arrival mid
April. Does this seem sensible or is it a little early?

Can anyone put me in touch with a source of photocopied US (or
Admiralty) paper charts for the crossing to New Zealand? Or does
anyone have charts and pilot books they would be willing to sell or
trade?

I have a set of C-Map NT cartidges for most of the Caribbean,
Venezuela, and the Western Caribbean coast from Cuba to Panama if any
one is interested.

Any other comments and views very welcome
