Mace

There are special aluminium etching undercoats that are . Problem with sanding is only to get it smooth and make sure no paint is pealing off.

We're about to tackle this job. We just used awlgrip on the hull, so I
assume we'll use the leftovers for the masts. A few questions:
  1. Must we completely sand off the old paint?
  2. What should we use to etch the bare aluminum?

Thanks, and by the way, the hull and cabin top look incredible -- rolled and
  tipped.
