Loos has several models of rigging tension gauges. I have several and they
work very well. West carries them. Also, manufactures publish the breaking
strength of wire and fittings. The Loos gauges are really good for
balancing the load among the shrouds. When I redid my standing rigging, I
was able to figure out very detailed info of the loads & safety margins on
my rig.
