I concur with this. Here in the US, it seems most manufacturers of large
truck/trailer combos have gone to LED stop and tail lights (red). We had a
temporary traffic signal (Green/Yellow/Red) on my last job that was
entirely LED, ths needing a smaller battery, thus making it easier on the
poor engineer who had to carry it from place to place ;-) On my current
job, our traffic signals are LED only in the RED lens, I believe (they
aren't installed yet).
Those two uses make a HUGE market which should really bring down the price
of all LED lights. Haven't seen much mainstream use of white or blue LEDs
yet, though.
