Subject: Re: [worldcruising] Lanoline as a replacment for antifoul

So far, no one has reported first-hand experience with lanolin replacing
anti-fouling paint. All we've heard is reports of others who claim it
works.
Since I approach every new miracle with a healthy dose of skepticism, does
anyone here actually have first-hand knowledge?
A few years ago, locals around here were touting "Desenex," a baby-diaper
anti-rash cream, as a great anti-foul for props. I tried it; it was useless
as anti-foul, but the new-growth barnacles were all free of rashes.
