Hi Rick,
I went to the "Oriental School of Sailing" in Oriental, NC...
They have a Cal 31 and a Beneteau 280(?)...
I liked sailing the Cal much better than the Beneteau, although the Beneteau could turn on a
dime...
All the sailing was done in the Neuse River, near where it empties into Pamlico Sound...Around the
Garbacon Shoal marker (#7) for you ICW vets...
We had pretty good wind most days, although Friday was kinda disappointing...Best we could do in
the Beneteau was 3.9 knots...Best wind was on Wednesday, 12 knots, 2 to 3 foot seas...Made about
6.5 knots pretty steady in the Cal that day...
All in all, a lot of fun...Now I'm trying to decide where to get my next fix...
