I got an attachment which turned out to have a virus in it from the owner
of an email list that I belong to - he did not know that it was a virus. I
didn't open it (and I don't use Explorer anyway), but I never thought that
he would be sending out a virus.
THat's one reason why I hate html files - I have to open them to read them.
I use an exclusively text based mail reader, and neither the virus
attachments nor the html are automatically opened. I regard this as a good
thing, and do not want to change although some people sneer at the idea of
using such an 'old fashioned' concept as text only.
