Hi Jack
I don't know if it applies to other companies but Back when I had BoatUS insurance they sent out a letter detailing where the
claims cost were.
As best I can remember it was something like this.
#1 and way bigger than the rest was boats left in the slip unused. The number one cause of sinking was rubber hose/hose clamp
deterioration and the boat sank in the slip.
#2 collisions but this was mostly little motor boats and in confined spaces.
I don't remember beyond that.
I got the impression it was not racers or cruisers. At least not active ones.
