Pre-journey Essential *publications* : The charts. All else is just fun
reading. Nothing substitutes for experience and you can't get that except
by doing it.
Intra-journey essential: Any science fiction you can get your hands on.
Other people's travelogues. Anything by Ayn Rand or Carlos Castaneda. I
guess I'd say nearly any book. And one *good* book on how to leave a place
as beautiful as it was when you arrived; LIVE that one!!
