Good day folks, well I got our engines going. Seems it was air trapped
somewhere in the lines and filters. Fortunately there was a gentleman
(ex-cruiser) doing some warranty fiberglass work on the boat. He asked me
if I had pumped the bulb to purge the lines. I said "What bulb?" he stuck
his head into the engine compartment and said I didn't have one. The bulb he
was talking about is like the ones on an outboard fuel tank line. So I ran
over and picked one up for each engine. Cut the line and put them in. On
the one engine I discovered putting pressure on the lines with the pump a
little leak around the vacuum gauge. Tightened that up purged the filters
and injector lines. Fired right up and the tach held steady as a rock. The
other engine I just purged and it was up and running fine.

So installing the bulbs worked way better than little hand pump on the
engine block, and I have an emergency manual backup fuel pump if the
mechanical one fails<g>

Thanks for all your suggestions ! Thought I'd pass along the solution !

Fair Winds !
