[worldcruising] Diesel problems

Subject: [worldcruising] Diesel problems

Good evening folks, did some work on one of my Volvos this morning and I am
having a bit of a problem. I took out the Volvo prefilter and put in a
RACOR filter, I also changed the fuel filter on the engine. Then changed
the oil. Tightened all connectors twice. Now when I start the engine and
let it warm up a bit than go to 2000+ it will drop momentarily to
idle -700-ish for a second or two then go back up and stay near where it
should. It sometimes drops twice. At 2000 & under it seems to hold pretty
steady above that it wavers about 100 rpm or so. Not steady at all. Seems
like a fuel problem, did I not get it purged well enough? Think I am
sucking air somewhere? The RACOR vacuum gauge on top of the filter is
reading 3 psi. Do I need a electric booster pump between the first & second
filter? Got any ideas?

Help or suggestions would be appreciated ! ! !
