[worldcruising] Satellite E-mail service

Subject: [worldcruising] Satellite E-mail service

Anyone has experience with the Magellan GSC 100 satcom device? Is it a
reliable device?
MySatMail.com provides the E-mail service via Orbcomm satellites. Is this a
stable service, or another satellite communication group may shut down the
service as the "bigs" done?
The service is not cheap: the GSC 100 costs around the (US)$1000 and the
monthly subscription is $30, but if it is a "future-safe" service, it may
worth the money.
I believe that sooner or later all of us will leave the SSB and move to
satellite communication, as the commercial shipping did.
What is your opinion? Is MySatMail is a future-safe service?
