We also have a center cockpit boat, but it is a cutter. We also do
not want lines in to the wheel - for one thing we have furling sails
and that's enough lines. For another we have a companionway aft as
well as forward because we have a walk-over. We also want a fairly
heavy duty rig as our boat is 37000 lbs (and with 400 gallons of
water and 100 gallons of fuel it would probably be heavier), and some
of the windvanes just are not set up for that heavy a boat. We would
also like to have one that could be an auxillary rudder if something
happened to the main one. We've seen one at the Annapolis Boat show
that seems good, but have not seen it actually in use yet.
