The documentation list figures are the figures done by some esoteric
formula which has little or no application in the real world. I
wouldn't rely on those figures for anything. I think the gross tons
is figured by figuring out the volume of the ship and how much of
some weight the ship could hold in that volume. I don't think it has
anything to do with actual carrying capacity of the boat.
