Hi Barry and Jo
I live in Port Elizabeth which is half way between Durban and Cape Town
and on the leg you mention.
Agreed, we sometimes get bad weather but if you are prepared to wait for
the right window, you have some of the best sailing you can get. It's
usually, but not always, the guys who are in a hurry and take chances
that get nailed. So many sailors come this way and very few regret the
experience.

Jo, if you're coming from Australasia don't miss Chagos, Seyshelles,
Mayotte, Nosy Be in Madagascar and from there you'll be directed to some
of the other nice places along the African east coast (even Mozambique)
before you get to Richards Bay in South Africa.
Kind Regards
Doug
