I agree with Barry's comments about the leg from Durban to the Cape. Any
South Africans on the list might chip in with their local knowledge.
From what I've read from people who have done the trip, the secret seems
to be "time and patience". Waiting for the "weather window" seems to be the
secret. No doubt there are fisherman in the region who would give you some
excellent advice (mind you I would not take our boat where some of the
South Australian fishermen around here take their boats. We met one who had
some of his craypots hard up against the cliffs on an exposed shore. Not
for me - thanks very much.)
So, can we hear from people who live and sail around the Durban/Cape region
- or anyone else who has sailed the route (especially east to west).
