Hi Barry,
The South Atlantic is not subject to the "collision" cool air from Canada
and and the hot air from Central America as it hapens in the Golf.
Down the River Plate and North of Uruguay we have a very bad wind called
Pampero which blows at more than 100 kph but the temperature brought by this
wind in summer is as hot as the winds from the north (Brazil)
The strenght of the Pampero and the shallow waters of the River Plate mekes
these climatic conditions as dangerous as a hurricane.
Down there the winds from the north bring rain, heat and humidity and the
Pampero do the clean up effect.
