[worldcruising] RE: Hurricanes in South Atlantic?

Subject: [worldcruising] RE: Hurricanes in South Atlantic?

It seams that all the material I found from the USA refers to the South
Atlantic as South of USA but still North of the equator. Near the Caribbean.
I am interested in why there are no hurricanes South of the Equator in the
Atlantic?
There are plenty at 20S in South West Pacific and Indian Oceans . How come
The Atlantic is so different? Is it because of the cooling effect of the
Amazon.

Regards

Barry
