I've avoided them because I look like a circus bear riding one.
But why bother? You have to lug them aboard, protect them from the weather,
haul them ashore and protect them from thieves. Instead, buy an island bike
on arrival. Use it as long as you need it and sell it to the next new
arrival when you're ready to move on. Then get another island bike at the
next stop. They're uglier than sin and look like every other island bike,
so you're not likely to lose it and if you do you're only out a few bucks.
The maintenance is nil and the cost is almost nothing.

=I am looking for recommendations from fellow cruisers for folding
=bicycles. Am looking for easy-to-store model that rides well in
=cities and relatively level roads, not a mountain bike. Please let
=me know your experience with your bikes. Thanks!
