I totally agree. I'd love to learn some Spanish and Portuguese.
I've struggled for a long time getting some capability in French, a bit
of German and some Esperanto. I am moving to Holland in a few months
and have been spending a lot of time with audio tapes and an very good
CR-ROM program (Rosetta Stone) to learn some Dutch.
I would be interested in hearing about success stories. I found that
I made the most progress in German in gasthauses over a few beer, and I
hope to learn Dutch in a similar fashion.
