Subject: [worldcruising] Homemade anemometer

Hi
Does anyone know a homemade device to measure speed velocity? I know that Westmarine offers some unexpensive handheld anemometers, but I am really not in condition to face the costs of importation of such an item.
Yes, I've studied the Beaufort Scale, but I thought, maybe there is another way to access the wind speed.
