Subject: RE: [worldcruising] Says Rig Self Steering

The Saye's Rig is probably your best option - especially with hydraulic
steering. I personally think it's the best design of them all, mainly
because of the following reasons:
1) If the steering system totally fails, as long as the rudder is still
attached you can steer with the Saye's Rig.
2) A very clean and simple mounting.
3) Rugged as all hell.
4) Provides huge steering power (trim tab on long lever arm).
5) Simple overall design - almost NOTHING to go wrong.
Cheers,
Ray

Does anyone have any experence with the Says Rig? It has been
recomended as the best for our application. Center cockpit with duel
station hydralic steering. Before we go out and buy one, we are very
interested in talking to those who have used the unit. We sail a
steel, Offshore 44 designed by Bruce Roberts, that we spent way too
many years building.
