Two suggestions. One, for insurance, you might try Blue Water
Insurance. They specialize in shorthanded voyages, i.e., a crew of two. I
think they have a minimum insured value of $50,000, if that would be more
useful. You can find their webpage by using any search engine. If you're
interested and can't locate it, let me know, I have it here somewhere.
Secondly, there's a webpage by a couple who sailed their CS27 from
Canada to the Caribbean and back that you might find interesting. The page
also contains a way to email the authors, who can probably provide a lot of
information that would be helpful. The url is
